Amitabh Mall is a Partner & Director in the Mumbai office of The Boston Consulting Group.

Prior to his Amitabh was based out of BCG’s New York office. He is a core member of BCG’s Consumer and Retail Practice. He leads BCG’s Marketing and Sales Practice in India. He is also BCG’s global co-leader for the topic ‘Going-to-Market in Rapidly Developing Economies’

Amitabh works extensively with MNCs in the consumer space. Examples of his recent projects include:

  • Evaluated and prioritized opportunities to improve profitability for a leading FMCG MNC in India
  • Identified structural improvement opportunities in sales and distribution for a leading MNC in India
  • Developed a new business model for an MNC in India to target the opportunity in the mid and low income segment

Amitabh has specific experience in developing Go-to-market models across industries. Examples include:

  • Designed new channel structure and enhanced the sales force effectiveness of a leading building materials company
  • Revamped the performance management systems for the sales force of an Indian cement major
  • Identified opportunities to enhance the sales force effectiveness of a Fortune 50 technology player in Brazil and Russia

Amitabh holds an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. Prior to that, he has completed his Bachelor’s degree in Commerce from Osmania University, Hyderabad.
