Per Hörnell and his family are curious and like to learn from a new environment and different cultures. It has meant that they lived most of their life outside their native country, Sweden, and have had the opportunity live in The Netherlands, China and now India. They have now settled down in Mumbai, a city they feel excited to get to know and enjoy as their new home for many years ahead.

Per joined Inter IKEA Systems, the franchisor of the IKEA Concept in 2006 where he held roles with Global responsibility for Sourcing in Category Media and he later became MD of their Distribution Division. In 2013, he joined The IKEA Group to lead the Distribution Services for Asia Pacific with operations in India, China, Australia, Japan and South Korea. During this assignment he was also a member of the IKEA Retail Country Board in China, Australia and India.

The passion for India and the opportunity to have a leading role to launch IKEA Retailing in India meant that in March 2017, he joined the IKEA India Retail organisation as the head of the Maharashtra market at IKEA India.
